Review on Modern Vintage Metal Brushed Sputnik Chandelier | Mid Century Flush Mount Ceiling Light Fixture for Farmhouse Kitchen, Living Room, Dining Room, and Bedroom by Maili Silcox

8 bulbs == lots of light

The lamp was very easy to put together. The levers come pre-assembled and connected to the wiring harness, so all you have to do is tighten them up. You have some spaghetti left over from fairly long wires at the base of the mount, so I added some zip ties to tie them up more neatly and route them around where the two mounting studs go. When installing, I suggest (1) paying attention to the orientation of the mounting studs when installing the mounting plate, as this controls the orientation of the arms, and (2) running a short length of bungee cord through the centers of the bars and hooking them it through the center hole of the mounting plate to support the instrument while you connect the wires. Then loosen the bungee cord, place the base on the studs and tighten the nuts. I installed mine in a spare room that I'm converting into a studio, lit by 450 lumen frosted lightbulbs. It is adequate for this space/purpose and the size/shape of the multi-arm fixture helps direct light to all corners of the room and minimize shadows on work surfaces. If you choose brighter bulbs, you'll likely need a dimmer as well.

Pros
  • Useful not only for its intended purpose
Cons
  • No paint required
