This is my third attempt to use the docking station. The first was the Hiearcool USB-C Hub, USB-C Laptop Dock, 11-in-1 Triple Display Type-C Adapter, which worked very well but had a very short USB-C cable , so that it was attached to my laptop. It also tended to overheat if I plugged in too many ports, particularly Ethernet with 2 HDMIs. I saved it as a backup which was a good plan as next time I got a "RAYROW USB C Triple Display Dock, 14-in-1 USB C Dock with SSD Enclosure and 87W PD Charger". This thing was damn finicky. I was never able to get 2 HDMI displays working at the same time and ethernet also overheated the unit (in the middle of a conversation with my boss). My tech support transcript on this would be funny if I wasn't busy finding fun. He comes back. With a heavy heart I tried again. Kensington just worked. Everything lit up right away, my laptop charges via USB C and my 2 displays are clocked at 3840 x 2160. Thank you Kensington. If you want the docking station to work, you pay extra. Update: USB is dead. Now what?
