Review on Razer Goliathus Extended Chroma Gaming Mouse Pad: Customizable Chroma RGB Lighting by David Naranjo

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great mouse pad. but read this review to the end. Believe me.

Although I bought it by mistake, I still decided to give it a try. Here's what you should know before you buy, along with some pros and cons. Pros: Right from the start you will find that the pad itself is of high quality and is perfect for any type of mouse, especially if you intend to use an optical mouse. It feels nice, thick and luxurious and even has a bit more flair with an added chroma effect neatly stitched onto the outside of the mouse pad. It's the ideal weight (I think) to feel light enough to move around when you need it, but not light enough to move. when using the mouse. The mouse pad itself even offers cable management at the top left where the USB cable starts. For the short time I've had it, the chord wasn't really a problem and didn't bother my mouse cable. I can see this mouse pad being perfect for anyone using a wireless mouse as it creates a great aesthetic. Pair this with any Razer mouse and you'll get a satisfying feel. (Wireless or not, it works fine.) For $40, you get what you pay for, and believe me, when the lights go out in your room, you'll understand. However, how does it compare to the Firefly, which costs about $20 more? Cons: I would give this mousepad 5 stars if it wasn't for the Razer Chroma Firefly mousepad. There is a difference between them and some argue Chroma Goliath could be better. I mean if you look it's $20 less than the Firefly. But Razer is good at two things: first, it delivers premium products at a slightly higher price point, which rarely disappoints, and second, it's good at making things that are genuinely aesthetically pleasing and have a certain "awe factor" when one sees it . There are a few things missing compared to the Razer Goliathus Chroma. One of the things that struck me right away is that it doesn't work as well as Firefly does with Synapse. (Program to adjust lighting effects to your preferences) Some effects just don't work on Goliathus while Firefly can almost copy other Razer products, perfect for a unified look (keyboard, mouse, speakers, tint etc) and don't get me wrong I would be happy with either, they both look AMAZING but if you compare the light of Firefly and Goliathus Firefly wins. Another downside I could think of that doesn't apply to me (more of a pro for me) is that this is a very large mouse pad and if you have a small desk it may not suit your setup. Here is my conclusion. You see, both mouse pads are better than any other simple mouse pad. If you're a more technical person who isn't really interested in that much flair, get Goliathus. But if you're trying to make your setup as aesthetically pleasing as possible, get a firefly. But remember that both options will look great, and you will not be disappointed. THIS IS IMPORTANT: Suppose you want a firefly but don't want to pay $60 for a mouse pad. (I see, really.) I ordered my used and refurbished Firefly for exactly (wait) $40! It's the same amount for the Goliath, but you get the more expensive version. And I don't know about you, but used mouse pads are just mouse pads, you don't have to worry about tearing them apart. I would recommend buying a used Firefly or a new Goliathus. Hope this review helps. ;) but you get a more expensive version.
