The mouse is comfortable and works well. I wanted a wired mouse as there were stories of Logitech Universal Receiver being hacked, but I like this form factor. Bases are one thing. It looked interesting, but in practice it felt like my hand slipped off the mouse. Eventually I found a comfortable position, but it still felt odd. Responsiveness and accuracy are good, and there are several ways to tweak them through the operating system controls and taskbar. The ball feels a bit gritty, but nothing bad. My old wired mouse was the Kensington Orbit, which I loved until I started using applications that required a middle click. I used the Logitech wireless I had, but receiver hacking issues (why can't more mice just plug into regular Bluetooth?) put me off it for everyday use.
