There is no one in the family qualified to test the 250lb capacity but I ended up with 220. This little ladder does it a lot more when I step on it than I would like. It's also quite small, which has its perks, but in my size 11 shoes I fill out the upper quite a bit. to storage restrictions (ours lived in our RV for a while until we realized it wasn't really helping us). Just know; This little ladder might be perfect for you, but check the measurements to make sure it actually fits. (He's really not that tall.) And please consider the weight. To be honest, I wouldn't give him much more than 220 credit.
