I had another cheaper branded model (Kodak ZD710 which now outsells this Panasonic) that had issues with battery life. I was looking for a mid-range camera with these must-have features: continuous shooting mode, viewfinder, panorama assistant, super zoom. I've carefully checked reviews on Revain and several other sites, including Consumers Reports. This camera has all the features I wanted and more. I saw a lot of models that I liked, but they all had a lot of negative reviews. This camera only had a few and I think the reviews were pros wanting something bigger but cheap. For the price, I consider this camera to be the best in its class. I've only had them a few days but I like them. I took it to an indoor soccer game and exhaled with it. Image stabilization with superzoom worked great. I made a zoom video of the group, it turned out great. The only downside I noticed was that the action sequences seemed slow. I've tried various methods and found that the intelligent point-and-shoot mode actually works better than the sport mode. I probably didn't know enough and I'll find out eventually, but I have to give the camera 5 stars. As for battery life, which was an issue with my Kodak, so far so good. It has a lithium ion battery. I had the camera on for 3 hours last night - it went to sleep a few times and I took over 300 pics plus a few videos and the 3 battery life bars only dropped to 2 towards the end. this review after learning more and this camera used more. Take it on a missionary journey with 15 seventh and eighth graders who are constantly on the move. Should be interesting.
