Combined Bed Bug & Waterproof Cover

If you've ever caught bed bugs while camping, abroad or at a cheap motel, you know you never want to repeat the experience! And unfortunately, bed bugs aren't just a nuisance reserved for the poor. Having just bought a new house and new beds, my wife and I wanted to make sure our investment - especially expensive mattresses and new carpeting - is protected. That's why we chose this double protection mattress topper for our guest bed. The top half has a moisture-wicking vinyl cover. The rest of the cover acts as a barrier against bed bugs, dust mites and other pests. The cover fully covers the mattress and even has a square of tape to seal the zipper end on the side! It is definitely a two person job to put this cover on your mattress - whether you have a mattress with internal springs/coils or not. or memory foam. We found it easier to install the mattress on the side than on the bed. She compared the process to putting on new pantyhose over her legs. lol! The cover has a smooth outer layer so it doesn't feel like there is plastic between the sheets and the mattress. The vinyl cover under the top layer covering the mattress protects against moisture. In addition to house dust mites and bed bugs, the coating prevents dust and mold from penetrating the mattress. This is a blessing for allergy sufferers! As expensive as a good mattress is these days, the last thing you want to do is throw it away because it's infested with biting bugs. $52 for a mattress topper might seem like a lot, but compared to the cost of a new mattress, I'd say it's a worthwhile investment.
