I love this wallpaper. I originally bought this for an accent wall in our half bathroom but the gray hue of the wallpaper didn't quite match my paint color and I didn't want to repaint 3 walls. Not wanting to waste this beautiful paper, I decided to use it to redesign my ugly 80's oak cabinets in our laundry room. This made a huge difference in the look of the laundry room! It took me a while to figure out that the easiest way is to put the cabinets in place to make sure the jig is lined up correctly. I cut it right on the cabinet with a very sharp utility knife. The trick is to go slow and smooth from the center to the edges. Push it to the surface as you walk. If there is a bubble, gently push it towards the edge. If you walk too fast, the blister can turn into a crease. If you have a crease, gently lift the paper and straighten the crease, then flatten it out again. It also helps to have a felt hem to keep blisters out. Because the pattern was large and the surface small, I had a lot of scrap to balance the pattern. It took me about 2 rolls including scrap and about 3 hours to update the entire cabinet (8 top doors, 1 bottom and side). Overall, I've spent about $75 on cabinet upgrades (including the smoothing kit). Painting would probably cost about the same but take a lot more time. After the wallpaper was in place on the cabinets, we installed cabinet handles. We drilled the holes wrong on one cabinet and had to redo the holes. Originally I planned to remove the wallpaper and redesign it. But I ran out of wallpaper and patched the holes and cut out small pieces of wallpaper to cover them. You really can't do this unless you search for them very intensely. The glue sticks well to the wallpaper. The wallpaper itself is dense and has a beautiful matte finish. My only concern is that I wish the company would print the grid lines on the back of the paper like contact paper, it would be so much easier to work with! Of course I'm already looking at another article for another project! Can I recommend it to others? Yes, 100%! Just be aware that you'll probably need to order more than you think and you may end up tossing your first piece or two in the trash once you get the hang of it. A large wall of this type of paper would be very expensive to make.
