Sturdy and ingenious. The wide part of the cup goes to the bottom and the smaller circle is at the top. In the upper part there is a recess in which the wheel fits and doesn't slip.He raised the bed high enough for me to slide my trampoline under and take it off easily before deciding to move the bed.I have an automatic electric bed and when I pushed the bed it was I pulled my remote's cord over one of the bed risers and when the cord got taut and I kept pushing the riser it came loose from a corner.I had to remove the other three in order to sleep in the bed that night.Without a cord that held the free ends in place, I couldn't untie them no matter what I did Finally I got a strong elastic cord, attached it behind the riser and held the cord tight as I pushed the bed. Out of the blue I removed all 3 risers. I decided to omit the risers and trampoline mainly because the bed with the risers became too high for me and I had to use a small step stool to get into bed. Great buy if you want lots of space under the bed and something that won't accidentally come loose unless you do something really stupid like me.
