It's been a long time since I bought my last gaming rig and I've switched from PC gamers to consoles for a couple of years now. Oculus Quest brought me back to PC after running out of games and other stuff on Quest and wanting to boost the graphics performance a bit. I researched the state of nVidia CPUs and GPUs for a while and settled on the iBuyPower MR9270. It seemed like the right balance between performance and price. Revain delivered my new toy in two days and the friendly courier looked at me as he handed over the package which was not hidden but safe and well wrapped. I had no trouble opening the box and following the installation instructions. iBuyPower thought of everything and I was up and running in about 20 minutes. Since I bought this computer specifically for VR (although I'll be using it for a variety of other purposes, including writing this review), I was a little dismayed to find there was no USB-C import and ordered a Revain link cable. Don't worry after reading a bit I found that USB A to C would still work if it was USB 3.0. It took me a few tries to find the right one, but then I was ready to go. Oh my god, this car has muscles. An old copy of Total War Warhammer switched everything to ultra without the slightest hint of a wheeze. I turned on the RGB lighting system to show when the PC is heating up, and by the way, it wasn't until I was flying around San Francisco in Google Earth VR that it exploded when the car started glowing red, and I heard the fans. Not a problem, but it's this level of processing that will apparently take its breath away. All in all I am extremely happy that I bought this computer. It's so nice to jump into 2020 with a PC that feels like it belongs in the future. The shape is beautiful. There is no DVD/CD-RW so I ordered an external one that can be plugged in. To be honest I just want to see what some of my old PC games look like while exploring Oculus Rift games and the Steam store. I hope that was helpful.
