I put this on a table with a mosquito net screen and the wind blew it all onto the cement and it was all good. I wouldn't advise testing it for no reason, but you're probably fine if it falls. I almost went for the small size due to the price drop, but it would definitely be too small. Otherwise I was pleasantly surprised by the quality. I thought it was cheap hard plastic on the outside, but it's some sort of metal that looks nice and is durable. Having an ashtray on the table might look gaudy, but it could have been a pretty candy jar or something. If I had to guess, 120-150 cigarette butts could probably easily fit in there.
