Not bad for the money

In general I like this vest. It takes the weight of the camera off your neck and holds it securely against your chest. One of the things I didn't like about the camera straps before I bought this strap was that when hiking, the camera wobbled and you had to use your hands to steady the camera so it didn't accidentally bump into objects. This trailer solves that problem. I also like the fact that it snaps into place and doesn't fall out. I've seen other reviews saying it falls out when the wearer leans forward, but that just means they didn't attach it. You lock the camera by either quickly sliding it into the vest's slot until you hear a click, or rotating the camera 90 degrees so the lens is pointing out of the way, sliding it into the slot, and then allowing the lens to rotate . down under the influence of gravity. (Assuming you've properly attached the base plate to the camera so that the notch on the plate is parallel to the back of the camera.) Now there are a few things that could be improved. When I first used it on a hike, the squeaking noise with every step bothered me. It turned out that the noise was caused by the vest's slit on the head rubbing against the floor panel. Before the second ride I took some candle wax and rubbed it on the contact points and there was no noise on my ride. Second, I didn't like having to use a flathead screwdriver (or the special tool that came with the vest) to attach the baseplate to the bottom of the camera. It had to be designed to be finger tight, like many quick release tripod bases. Additionally, it should be designed to be compatible with Arca Swiss quick release base plates so you don't have to remove that base plate and put on another when you want to put the camera on a tripod.
