Attention, the wrong installation instructions cost me time and money. The lip should be flush with the wall, not over it.
I had to rip this out of the wall after my contractor told me that the ledge should be flush with the wall, not over the wall. The instructions say to "fade" the protrusion so that it blends into the wall, but the reality is that this creates an uneven surface that will be noticeable when the tile is laid. I had to buy a second niche, cut out more cement. plank to make this niche flush with the shower screen which cost me more time and money for this project.
