I bought this product after reading some reviews and seeing a lot of negative reviews and will check them first: - Mine (Pink) WAS a sports cap with a straw supplied. - There was a slight smell of plastic when first opened. , washed in hot water and the odor was gone immediately and didn't affect the taste - I haven't had any leaks when screwing it in properly which can be a bit tricky. That would be my only downside as it's not as intuitive as you'd hope. (Fittings do not always fit). I found this product to be EXTREMELY easy to clean. If you're used to very sweet drinks like Propel or Gatorade, the water might seem a little bland to you. I would recommend adding a teaspoon of sugar to your fruit so you can adjust. Overall VERY happy with my purchase, I don't usually drink nearly enough water and since purchasing it in the past few days I've been drinking more water than I have in the last few months.
