Review on 🎧 CVJ CSE In-Ear Earbuds: Dynamic + Balanced Armature CVJ Headphone, Extra Bass, Green (No Mic) by Greg Baker

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Cheap and inexpensive IEM

Nice that there are so many headphones in this price range. CVJ really exceeded all expectations as headphones that often cost 3x have nothing extra. Everything comes nicely packaged and beautifully presented. You will receive 3 pairs of earbuds (S/M/L), a black braided cable and a small leather case. Everything looks and feels really good. Comfort is always subjective, but I'll share my experience anyway. The included ear tips are slick and gave me a good seal. The cable is light and of good quality. It doesn't hold creases and straightens up easily. The earhooks are preformed and the ones I received were decent but quite tight. Overall, the build quality of the earbuds themselves seems good. They are made almost entirely of translucent plastic. They feel solid in the hand and look quite nice thanks to their scalloped, textured bezel. I would say this is a medium to large sized IEM. Should fit most ears easily, but may be uncomfortable for small ears. For me personally they fit very well, are snug and certainly non-irritating thanks to the smooth plastic construction. Bass is definitely boosted with the CVJ CSE, but that doesn't mean it's bad. I found the bass to be punchy and have a big impact. It's well tuned and doesn't sound loud. This is a fun and warm IEM sound that should compliment most modern styles of music. I didn't find too much low-mid penetration to avoid the overly muted presentation that some bass-heavy IEMs can have. Overall, I liked the presentation of the bass, full without overwhelming the rest of the frequency range. I found the midrange sounded neutral overall. You're definitely set back a bit, but you don't lose much clarity. I found the mids to be a bit thin at times, vocals can often lack the punch you might be used to. That said, they're still excellent for an IEM in this price range, and the overall sonic performance is very pleasant to listen to. I found the CVJ CSE's high frequencies to be very quiet. I certainly don't like a setting that is too bright and sizzling, but I did feel that the highs lacked that certain brilliance and definition that one might otherwise need. You get a good sense of air and soundstage, but it's narrower than others I've tried. Image and detail are still very good despite the warmer setting. I really like what CVJ has done here. For this money you get a lot more than you might expect. They're certainly marketed as budget IEMs, but they sound pretty impressive and represent really good value for money. They're comfortable, well constructed, and have a warm, relaxed sound signature that should suit most people's tastes. I give them a solid 8.8 out of 10, a very commendable performance by CVJ and a product I highly recommend at this price point.
