The product itself is of high quality. If there was a ground wire it would be perfect. See my photo. I had to rewire the pendant light because I needed a longer cord. On the right of the photo is the original lamp (Ikea lamp for $40), on the right is this product. When I realized there was no ground wire I consulted an electrician and while there is a workaround it is complicated and should be left to a qualified electrician. From what I've learned I can't believe people are making tube lamps with this product. Anyone can connect a lamp, but what many don't know is that if you short circuit and ground incorrectly, you can get an electric shock if you touch a conductive metal part. Identical products with ground wire are sold here. Please be careful. It's not worth saving a few bucks.
