baby arrived, we quickly realized we need something. Not because of the smell (the baby is breastfed, so it hardly smells), but because the many diaper changes very quickly filled the usual trash can in the bathroom. I started considering the usual step to opening trash cans when I came across this bucket. It was economical and seemed easier to use than a genie. I'm so glad I ordered it but there are some downsides. CONS - Less than we thought. We fill it up daily and once it's about 80% full you'll either need to lower your nappies to make room or change bags. We just go ahead and swap bags. A NOTICE. Our baby is breastfed, so we have to change wet and dirty diapers a lot more. - The lid closes quite loudly. More than once after changing in the middle of the night when the child practically fell asleep while changing, only to be woken up by the slamming of the camera door. It's more annoying than anything. - It is white. I wish it came in darker colors. White shows any dirt. We only have one bathroom so our guests can see the bucket when using the toilet. I wipe it down more often than usual to make sure it always looks clean. ADVANTAGES - Easy to use. The plastic inserts are easily replaceable. Simple and elegant design. Doesn't look too childish. We will continue to use them even after the diaper phase. - Economical. Costs money.
