Revainrating 5 out of 5

Used for the engine compartment lighting system.

Peel off the tape that was on the LED strip. Some reviews say it works well indoors, but for this application I'd recommend a much stronger tape (link below). I bought a built in fuse holder (I got a style to match the mini fuses my car uses. And installed a 5A fuse. is the closest I could find at Revain: https://www .amazon.com/ Satco-White-Spt-1-number-90-1534-SAT/dp/B000V56AEY However, any two strand wire will do, we recommend at least 16-12 gauge, but you can most likely go much thinner. The wiring process was as follows: I used the side of the LED strip that didn't have a 12 volt connection and cut the length for my project Soldered the lamp wire directly to the LED strip There is a video on YouTube for this The LED -Strip The LED strip keeps heat away from the soldering iron and allows you to quickly attach the wires to the leads Just make sure you find the correct sides for plus and minus The connection is wrapped in self-sealing silicone adhesive band: https://www.amazon.com/Nashua-Stretch-White-Silicone-Sealing/dp/B00L2C4H4A to keep the items outside. Regular tape, liquid tape, or maybe even hot glue should work just fine too. Used masking tape to temporarily fix the LED strip. I routed the wire into the hood mount to hide it from view. I routed the cable to the front of the hood. from the passenger side. Installed a switch (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0148G6EEM) into an existing hole in the front of the hood. First I tried installing it closer to the back of the hood but the switch didn't work. I suppose if I had spent more time with the solution I could have gotten it to work as further back there would be fewer obstacles for those who have to lean over the engine bay. (See update: This switch got rusty after a few months) Cut the negative side of the wire and use a solderless socket for the switch. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0148G6EEM I sealed the cut with tape but didn't bother to remove the excess lamp cord. Continue routing the wire along the underside of the radiator bracket to the fuse box. Drill a small hole in the bottom of the fuse box for the wire to pass through. Solder the built in fuse holder to the positive wire. Connect the positive wire to the 12V line in the fuse box. Make sure the system is working. I went back along the cable routing and used double sided tape (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00UZCAU9O) to attach the cable in various places and finally got the final position of the LED strip set. You don't want the LEDs to be directly visible as the glare will be distracting, so the inside edge of the hood design is a good point. degree that it was completely unreliable. I decided to replace the automatic switch with this manual switch (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007UTFIV0/). I believe that the old switch also caused a wrong rendering problem.
