Beautiful kite that could be great with a few modifications

The children had fun with the kites, painting and flying. The problem we had was that the kites didn't hold together well. The red plastic piece that holds the side supports in place can slide up and down the center support, allowing it to slide up too far and the side supports to fall out. Small black sticks in the field are almost impossible to find. We had to disassemble the sixth kite to replace the missing parts. With a little tape and some time, here's how I was able to fix it: 1. Cut two inches off the orange tail and attach one inch to each side support. This way it's much easier to spot the missing supports when the kite falls apart as they have a light colored piece of material.2. We completely prevented the kites from falling apart by putting tape over the middle red part to keep it from riding up and the side supports from falling out. Just push the red part down until the kite is as tight as you want and secure from the top. One kite even felt like it was in the ocean and didn't fall apart thanks to the extra tape. You can also do this by using a piece of drinking straw to prevent the red element from sliding up. If the kite manufacturer had just made it so that the red piece of plastic couldn't ride up the center post I would give this set 5 stars.

Pros
  • We updated the previous version, this kit is easier to fly and draw, added 8 colored markers and long colorful bow tails, everything is better than before.
Cons
  • Only available in white
