Now I understand why the instructions put the chairs together last. I may have just stumbled upon a poor quality fake but the quality of the screws provided were poor and there also appears to be a design flaw which makes it very difficult to properly attach the legs to the chairs. The gap is very small so a standard sized screwdriver cannot be used - you will need a short screwdriver to get to the screw holes to attach the legs. I almost assembled one of the chairs and removed the last screw before I could fully tighten it. This results in a wobbly stool that cannot be used. The second chair had several screws snapped before I was almost done with it. As a child, my family owned a furniture store, which is where I got my first job. I have literally collected thousands of pieces of furniture. I don't think this is a case of user error. Despite these issues, the tabletop looks good, is difficult to assemble, and is solid. I have emailed the manufacturer about the issues with the chair and I hope they will resolve the situation.
