These plates are great for entertaining guests or turning everyday meals into a fun event. Everything looks so elegant on these rectangular plates, you'll look like a chef! The plates have a chic, modern design, but will also suit a traditional style home. They are ivory/cream white (not true white). Pay attention to different sizes. Each plate has a large rim so the flat part of the plate is not as large as it might seem. At 9.7" x 5.4" plates, the flat area within the rim is only 7.5" x 3.25", comparable to an average 8" round salad/dessert plate. 12x6" basin have a flat surface of approximately 9x3.5". This is slightly smaller than the average 10.5" diameter round dinner plate. The 35.6 x 20.3 cm plates have a flat top measuring approximately 27.9 It measures 4.5" x 4.5" which is slightly larger than the average round dinner plate. I find that either of the two large sizes can be used as a dinner plate depending on your appetite and serving size.
