Review on Wireless TECKNET Ergonomic Receiver Chromebook by Michael Pickering

Revainrating 5 out of 5

The Tecknet M006 2.4GHz mouse works great on OS-X 10.7.5 and performs brilliantly!

This is a very good mouse and I'm glad it works so well. My old USB mouse was dead so this mouse came just in time. These observations relate to TECKNET's Model M006 2.4 GHz wireless mouse: Pros: ** Nice big "human-sized" mouse that fits my large hands well. It's convenient and natural.** The 2.4G USB wireless receiver was tucked into the base, so I knew right away it was a good place to tuck it when not in use.** The wireless connection was instant and hassle-free. My Apple MACBOOK accepted it without blinking, showing me that the firmware is user-friendly. ** I tried different surfaces to see if I could fool the mouse or interfere with its function: I couldn't. Despite being told not to use it on highly reflective surfaces, I tried it on a marble coffee table that had many angular crystals showing through the polish and I couldn't tell it apart from my flat, solid color mouse pad. And you don't really need a mouse pad with this one. In fact, after a while of work, I turned to the mouse pad because it required less effort on a hard surface. Practice your fingers a bit with a mouse, like I did, and you'll make fewer mistakes. Love it.** There is a dedicated power button at the base of the mouse which I like. According to the instructions you don't really need it as it has a built in timer and turns itself off, but I'm "old school" and just like to switch off when I want to. **Battery life is stated as 30 months depending on the conditions: For example, using a dark colored mouse pad consumes more power than using a light colored mouse pad. My guess is that if you're happy to sit there and wave your mouse back and forth to make a decision, you'll also use more battery. Only time will tell if this is true or not.** The mouse is programmed with 5 DPI levels, selectable with the top wheel button: 800/1200/1600/2000/3000 DPI. 2000 by default. This choice can be made by pressing the wheel down or by not using the mouse for a long time. I'm not sure why that is, but maybe that's what the mouse should do when it goes into sleep mode. Functionalities like losing a wheel. I have an Apple MACBOOK, OS-X 10.7.5 and the mouse clings to my MAC like a fish in water. Am I in a small group? All I can tell you is that it works fine on 10.7.5. Cons: The only issue I had was that when I first received the mouse, I opened the box but didn't see the wireless USB port. I think it's human nature to quickly take stock when a new product arrives, so I wrote to the company and let them know. While waiting for an answer over the weekend, I took out my mouse, opened the battery cover to check the size of the battery, and there was a wireless USB plug that was kept in a small slot for storage. Now I know I'll have to investigate this for future mice, but I felt a little awkward at first. All in all a pleasant experience and a lightweight mouse to recommend. If it works that well on my old Apple, it should work on any Windows machine too. The company is responsive and cares about their equipment. I love them and that's why I will remember their products.
