A pretty rope is included so they are easy to dry and you need to put them in warm water to wet them before use, but only for a few minutes . I have arthritis in my hands and I find it a bit difficult to hold them down as they are slippery even without soap. They are effective at exfoliating and my skin looks less tight. Others have said you use less soap, but I haven't found that to be the case. I use the same amount of shower gel as usual. I have found that I have to use lotion after use as they tend to dry out my skin, but this is a common thing for me when using an exfoliating product.
