I have a love/hate relationship with this product. On the one hand, they are very effective. On the other hand, the gel is heavy and they need to be boiled in water on the stovetop for a few minutes to resolidify. The most frustrating thing is that they are often quite unstable. I use them almost every day for my sport. I put it in my gear bag and put the bag in the car in the morning. Unfortunately, I often find that one or more packages in the bag "activate". When I leave work and go to the barn, one or more are gone when I need them on a cold evening. This is frustrating. I have several "turns on" with me, so they don't reset even after prolonged cooking. Take them out of the hot water and as soon as they start to cool down, the catalytic reaction will spontaneously take place again. Sometimes, even if they seem good, just put them on the table to activate them and you'll have to cook them again. .I would recommend this product if you can handle it with kid gloves and don't have to move it anywhere until you need it. But if you plan on carrying them to your destination in your pocket, bag or other kit, they may seem unreliable.
