I'm very picky about belts, partly because of the spare tire I carry with me, partly because I use a lot of tape measures and other belt attachments, and partly because I'm just plain cruel about most things I do own. I think this belt will hold up well, I'm very happy with its durability. The buckle is nice thick metal and the leather is the thickest belt I've ever had (I don't want it to be thicker or wider, this one is just right). easily erased. I've never had problems like this with a belt. But I wear mine to work in the carpentry shop, so nobody (including me) cares. If you're looking for a durable belt that keeps its looks, this issue could be annoying. Maybe it's because of this particular belt, I don't know, but I'm still very happy with this belt. EDIT: The tape measure will severely damage the color and texture of the belt. Yes, this belt is made out of fairly strong, thick leather and the buckle is strong, but the coloring and finish are a lot easier to ruin than I expected. In my situation it doesn't matter, I work in the construction industry. But I was very surprised at how easily the belt was damaged by the tape measure clip - much more so than other belts I've had. The seams can also be easily pulled through the measuring tape clip.
