I read a lot of reviews and was skeptical, but this supportive frame made the mask much more comfortable to wear. I have asthma and often felt like I was choking because of the extra tissue covering my mouth or nose. This creates some air to breathe and improves airflow. This does not affect the fit and protection of my masks (handmade cotton) in any way. In hot weather (over 90 degrees) I sweat a bit, which can be a problem for people who sweat a lot or live in humid climates. The frame leaves no visible traces on the face, does not cause rashes or skin irritation. My doctor recommended N 95 masks but I can't touch them. Instead, I place a charcoal filter cartridge (purchased from Revain) between the frame and the mask for added protection. Putting the mask on and taking it off takes a little longer, but the breathing relief is worth it.
