200 Jeep Cherokee. I put the wider 31x10.5 tires on the stock 15x7 rim. I did the same thing on a previous '98 Jeep Cherokee with no problems. Obviously the rear tires were touching the stabilizer bar so I decided to add spacers to accommodate the wider tire. I put 2 inch spacers on all four wheels. After about 2 weeks I removed the front spacers because the tires were rubbing on the stock fender flares. I couldn't turn as sharply because of the friction. Body. The front is fine with no spacers. On the back, the studs are about 3/4" long, so when I put in the spacers, I only get about 1/4" threads. about 1 1/2 inches from the stabilizer so I have some clearance but I don't think it's very secure. I have decided to switch to a narrower tire in the near future to completely eliminate the spacers.
