This is a soft, lightweight endless scarf in a beautiful shade of plum black. It is connected with an interesting openwork pattern. The color runs from one end of the scarf to the other, clearly showing that the scarf was dyed after it was made, and there is a stitch (and tag) where the two ends meet. Both make it clear that they are machine knit and not hand knit, which is good for the price. Just don't expect to fool Stricker. :) The shading means that if you just scrunch it up, twist it and wear it, it will look like half plum/half black, no gradient, so remember it takes a bit of finesse to make it look better. But no matter how you dress it up, it still adds a nice touch of slight warmth.
