MEAT! Durable and strong! I have several tripods, many from Neewer. This is a great tripod with a lot of features. I bought two of these models specifically for use with my Slider Rig (4ft long) and for use with a gimbal mount for my 600mm telephoto lens. Both situations involve heavier equipment. Everything that is expected from a strong and very durable tripod is included in this device. With the telescoping POD center there is no need to use ballast equipment. In my opinion, that's more typical for a photographer who takes a lot of equipment to the sets, so the weight doesn't matter. NOTE: (THIS TRIPOD IS NOT FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO TRAIL AND LONG TRIPS WITH A BACKPACK). If anyone is looking for a well-built, lightweight tripod for hiking outdoors, I would recommend either carbon fiber or lightweight aluminum designs.
