Avoid making the same mistake I did and avoid purchasing a walkie-talkie from shady web retailers. I initially ordered delivery because I was drawn in by a bargain pricing. The walkie-talkies appeared to be in working order, but their communication range was limited to 500–700 meters. The batteries were also very securely fastened, but even with the lightest touch of the key, they would fly off. After two hours of operation in the receive mode, the batteries would run out. I checked the boards and discovered that I had been duped. Then I went and paid a little more for it in a regular store, and it proved out to be a great device without the aforementioned drawbacks.
