Although advertised as a detachable cable, the cable itself is not easily replaceable. There are two main issues with using a different USB-C cable: 1) The USB-C jack for the main cable is countersunk in the case, which allows only certain thin-shell USB-C cables to be used. 2) The recessed USB-C port is keyed. Therefore, you need a special spare USB-C cable with dongle to make it work. Also, it's not all aluminum. Only the top cover is aluminum. The bottom cover is made of plastic. And finally, there is an annoying whine when connecting to the power supply.
