The way this pillow feels is hard to describe. It is incredibly silky and soft and instantly makes me feel relaxed and comforted when I place my head on it. Even though it is recommended for stomach sleepers, I use it for side sleeping because I am very small framed and petite. Most pillows that are marketed for side sleeping feel too thick and puffy for me. I use one for my head and "hug" a second one to make my body feel more stablilized and balanced. I have chronic neck discomfort, so I previously would wake up multiple times per night because I was uncomfortable, but this pillow has greatly improved the quality of my sleep. I have found that pillows filled with down are much more comfortable than pillows that are filled with a down and feather combination. The feathers can feel a bit stiff and crunchy. I wouldn't recommend this pillow for side sleeping for average or normal sized people, but this company also makes thicker pillows that would probably be good for you also.
