Review on Beige 30-Inch Brass Upholstery Zipper By Dritz Home - Improved SEO by Tammy Sims

the zipper looked like a great match for what was there previously

The slider is the cheapest piece of metal possible. I bought this in order to fix a zipper on my grandmother's sofa. The tape next to the zipper teeth on one cushion had disintegrated. It's a 60 year old couch. I painstakingly sewed on this zipper; the zipper looked like a great match for what was there previously. However, the slider bent on the first attempt to zip closed the couch cushion. Not upholstery quality. Upon close inspection, I could bend the slider on or away from the teeth with my fingertips. I ended up using the 60 year old slider that had been on the couch with the new tape/teeth. Zipped up like a charm.I would not recommend this product for upholstery. I imagine the zipper would work fine if there was no pressure on the slider (like there is with couch cushions).

Pros
  • Arts, Crafts & Sewing
Cons
  • Could be more expensive than other brass zippers on the market
