I just want to start with total frankness. I'm not religious at all, I don't believe in higher powers, but I'm not at all against reading spiritual stories. I study different religions just to try to understand other people's perspectives. Now my husband read this and found great enlightenment and wanted me to read it. The first half of this book is good, but when real religious teachings come in, it's a complete incoherent mess. I couldn't finish the book. I try to read a few pages here and there because I promised him I would finish it, but every time I do it makes me want to gouge my eyes out. It's just a few words that don't make sense and are overly pretentious. The author tries so hard to express a deep intellectual thought that he forgets to write sentences that form a coherent thought. It's like I lost all semblance of understanding when he got to the cabin. If you're going to take on this book, good luck and I hope you get more out of it than I did.
