It was soft enough that it didn't make any noise when I took it out of the packaging. The clear plastic quilt holder has a carrying handle that makes it useful for other uses instead of throwing it away as waste. I'll find a use for it. I thought the little tie that connects the two zippers together and that it was still factory sealed was a really nice touch. The stripe pattern was good until I saw the other side with the checkered pattern. This side must be turned outwards. i really like it The two pillowcases have the same pattern on each side of the pillowcase. and all I have to do with them is flip them the way I want to present them. The duvet filling is well distributed across the duvet, which helps maintain an even warmth throughout the duvet. It's not lumpy anywhere, and the stitching on the duvet and pillowcases were expertly done and consistent across all three pieces. I did not find any manufacturing defects or protruding threads that could be severed. This is a good example of a quality duvet at a reasonable price for a queen size duvet. I expect many years of service from him. Four stars!
