Spotlight Oral Care for Total Care is packaged and priced like a higher quality toothpaste so I decided to give it a try. Maybe I'm just used to toothpastes like Colgate, but this toothpaste has a weirdness factor I'm not used to yet. I don't hate her, but I don't love her either. The first thing I noticed was that it's thicker than any toothpaste I've ever used. I have to strain to squeeze something out of the tube onto my toothbrush. The consistency is somewhere between toothpaste and sealant. The second thing I noticed is that it doesn't lather or lather at all. I have never experienced this. I wondered how well it could clean up with almost no foam. If you are a dirty cleaner this could be a plus. Third, it's taste. When they say mint, they mean mint. I feel a minty tingle in my mouth and on my lips. I'm talking about the Blistex tingle, not a slight tingle. That's too much for my taste. Despite all that, when I've finished my rather unique brushing experience, my teeth actually seem very clean, even better than with my regular toothpaste. The feeling of cleanliness lasts longer. I think this toothpaste is overpriced for one that doesn't contain bleach. Its ingredients aim to prevent tooth decay and plaque formation, which are the main functions of toothpaste. Although it seems to work for brushing my teeth, I don't think I'll get it again.
