I used to sew a bit, but did almost nothing for a long time. When my fiancé-to-be moved in, she didn't know I had special sewing scissors and started using mine for other crafts. Since I didn't sew much at the time, it didn't bother me too much, but eventually I made the mistake of starting to sew again and decided I needed new scissors. After a long search I came across this set and found it very valuable. It was nice that the kit included 3 different scissors for cutting threads and the like. But I will say that crane scissors are totally unsuitable for people like me with thick fingers. My fiancee uses them well so everything is fine. The basic scissors are well made and fit perfectly in the hand. In fact, the handle has a soft rubberized coating that makes it lighter and more comfortable. The action is smooth and they cut like a dream. Just as good as other scissors I've worked with but cost 3x the price.
