The 3Doodler Edu Start Learning Pack (2019 Version) is a comprehensive package designed to introduce educators and students to the world of 3D printing in the classroom. Packed with a X6 3D printing pen, 600 strands of plastic filament, and class activity plans, the blue pens are perfect for teaching the fundamentals of 3D printing. However, while the package may seem comprehensive, we found that the X6 3D printing pen lacked in some areas. Firstly, the pen was quite bulky and difficult for younger students to handle. Despite its size, we found that the pen's position and button placement made it hard to control the flow of the plastic filament effectively. The 600 strands of plastic filament provided in the pack were more than enough for the recommended activities, but we found that some of the strands were difficult to work with. The filament would often become tangled, leading to frustration and wasted time. On the positive side, the class activity plans provided in the pack were very helpful for educators. However, we found that some of the activities were geared towards older students and required a higher level of skill and knowledge. We would have liked to see more options for younger students or those new to 3D printing. Overall, the 3Doodler Edu Start Learning Pack (2019 Version) is a good package for introducing 3D printing in the classroom. However, improvements could be made to the X6 3D printing pen and the filament provided. Additionally, more options for younger students would be beneficial.
