I'm a working musician, I've had head mics since the 80's and unfortunately this one was a disappointment. To be honest, I should have known better: despite bearing the Shure name, this is a cheap, so-so mic that's best suited for cooking demonstrations at trade shows, not the typical live music player. It has almost no pickup in the low end and contrary to its description it picks up a lot of stage distortion from other instruments. To make matters worse, my conversation with the outrageously pretentious "engineer" at Shure Technical Support (he wanted to make sure I knew he was a real engineer - so now you know too :)) made it clear, that the company didn't care. Support for this product, although I did mention the very real possibility that the mic could be a counterfeit product as there is an important section on the Shure website that addresses this very issue. Thank goodness for Revain and their amazing support team who went out of their way to fix everything. But if you're buying a head mic for vocals in a live music setting, look elsewhere. My 10 year old Audio Technica, which cost about the same as this hot mess and I was hoping to replace, works a lot better.
