A friend introduced me to DHC skin care products about 10 years ago. After using their skincare products for a while and liking them, I decided to try their makeup line as well. I was intrigued by the idea of polymer mascara so I gave it a try. I've since stopped using DHC for skincare - I could find products that work just as well for less money - I still use this mascara. This is my own mascara! My lashes themselves are a good length, but they're light, which means I'm almost always wearing mascara. I can't comment on this mascara's ability to lengthen lashes - I did notice slight lengthening with one coat applied, but I think it takes multiple coats to increase the length. However, I can say that it is amazing for several reasons: 1) It really lasts all day. I put this mascara on at 7am at work and it still looks amazing at 10pm. I rubbed my eyes, got into a downpour, and was seriously working out at the gym, and it didn't run or flake off. The only thing you need to watch out for is warm water and steam. If you sit in a hot tub, the hoses will likely loosen and begin to detach. But really, what kind of mascara can withstand a hot bath? 2) Fits great. most of the time. I've used enough tubes of this mascara to see a sample. When you first open it, it feels too runny, so it's difficult to get an even application. Then, after several uses, it settles on the brush and it's just fantastic - it's applied in two or three strokes, painting over each lash separately. However, after a few months, it begins to thicken, and then it becomes very difficult to prevent eyelashes from sticking together. I know mascara still needs to be thrown away after three months, but I always keep it until the tube is almost empty. I just spend the last month brushing any lashes that are sticking together before the mascara has time to dry. 3) I could imagine, but I think it made my lashes healthier. They're always full and shiny, while I've had trouble drying them out when using waterproof mascara (the one that rhymes with "more batter") that I had to remove from my eyes with makeup remover. To take it off, I simply splash warm water over my eyes, wait about a minute (I usually wash off the rest of my makeup while I wait), then gently pinch my lashes between my thumb and forefinger and immediately remove the tubes. .
