This was a birthday present for my 8 year old son. He has had it for 2 months now and uses it as a reading lamp every night before he goes to bed. First the good, then the bad. First, this light is lightweight and very bright (almost too bright for night lighting). The light color emits bluish white light, not amber light, because you want to help you prepare for sleep. Now for the bad as you can see from the photos it is broken in 2 places where the foam sleeves connect to the middle. This made it practically useless as you can't direct the light in the right direction. He's never complained about them being broken, he's only holding one page of the book and the other is hanging down. He's a prime example of showing gratitude even when things go wrong. Overall, I would not recommend this light.
