Used these for a tea party that lasted 5 hours and has never been dropped, taken apart or broken. Setup was easy; Twist and assemble (no screwdriver required). I will say that before buying you need to honestly decide how many items will be in each tier. They won't work for a stack of heavy confectionery like cake, but they will work for a light biscuit. Heavier items cause weight imbalances when each item is removed; thus, the tower may tilt, tilt, or fall. I would suggest if you want cakes don't stack them on top of each other if they are dense, make cake slices or serve them on a separate platter. They withstood all tests and never flexed. I also had mini pliers, not sure if that helped.
