Not a bad chair for the price. You just have to know what you're buying. The legs are definitely not gold, they're a dark brass color, but I didn't mind that in a chair, and they can easily be sprayed any color you want. The chair arrived with a scratch, but since I would be putting the chair in a vacant space that few people would see, I didn't think it was worth returning. The scratch was on the seat of the chair where the back meets the seat (picture). Assembly was a bit difficult for one person because one of the legs didn't fit perfectly in its hole, but with a few tweaks I was able to get it to fit perfectly. There were also no assembly instructions in the kit, so I wasn't sure which parts fit in which order. But there were a lot of parts in the kit, actually an extra kit. Overall, the chair makes a solid impression. But beware, the rear triangle is a bit flexible and if handled carelessly or incorrectly I could easily see it flexing under too much weight.
