Save yourself the headache and use a hammer drill to assemble.

So I bought this for my 5 year old who kept pulling all the books out of the closet when he wanted to look at them and couldn't put them back himself. Assembly: It was a pain at first as I only used a screwdriver but one day I took the plunge and asked my husband for his impact drill and Phillips screwdriver but it was easy. I was able to assemble it myself, with three little people trying to escape with screws within minutes of receiving the hammer drill. Durability: Seems to be about as durable as one could ask for pre-made furniture that comes in a crate these days. The material used seems durable compared to some reviews of similar products. However, the "boxes" just sit with no backs against a shelf or piece of wood between two boxes, so I'm not sure it will be very easy for little people to slide them in, and I don't think they do will be good too. for heavier toys like Lego or extra books. The shelves themselves are definitely not going to hold many books or a pile of bound books. However, a good mix of a few favorites will be great. This works very well for fantasy library books or school books, which are often invisible to children when stacked together on a bookshelf. Size and Accessibility: Although it was a little smaller than I expected, see the picture next to the dresser for comparison, I love that all little people can get to the books and put them back themselves. My final plan was to use this to regularly rotate books from the main shelf to give the kids variety and access to appropriate and seasonal books. It also helps to have a small group to read or sleep in and gets rid of the really long books kids choose to stay up longer. Overall I'd like to see it at a lower price, I paid $65 and would have been more comfortable at $45 for the size and materials, but I'm happy with the purchase. Offer all wooden shelves. But if you want something accessible to little people for a small number of books, I think this is the best option.

Pros
  • STRONG CONSTRUCTION AND EASY ASSEMBLY. When it comes to children's furniture, durability is key. That's why we've made our Sling bookshelf from durable melamine faced chipboard and MDF board, complete with metal supports and a durable top. Shelves made of high-quality, washable polyester fabric are the perfect solution to avoid damaging your books. Quick and easy assembly makes it easy to swap things out when you need to move your kids' bookshelves and storage to another room.
Cons
  • Lots of stuff
