Over the years the topper in my Sleep Number mattress has worn down. The rest of the bed works great and I see no reason to spend two grand on a new bed. It's been bad enough for the past year or two to make itself known. For strangers. My old [2007] bedroom has a foam pad in the mattress over the airboxes. Just want to point out as this is a bedroom and the pad is on the inside and not on top of the mattress as some beds are. However, it has only been about 1 month since I received this topper. It didn't smell when I unpacked it, but I left it in the garage on a tarp overnight. Installation was easy as all I had to do was rip off the sheets, open the top of the mattress and then replace. comfort. The first nights were great. After that it was fine and a noticeable improvement over the old worn out foam padding that was there. I have chronic middle and lower back pain, as well as some hip pain, so I can't comment on the pain relief at all. My bed offers some relief as opposed to a traditional mattress, making it difficult to assess the value of a mattress topper. It has definitely brought a breath of fresh air to my mattress so far and certainly brought more relief than an old, worn-out topper. If you're in pain though, I'd probably suggest at least a 3 inch topper. In general, the topper itself seemed pretty durable and of decent quality. To put it mildly, I was definitely pleased with this product. it costs me money. I was a little more concerned about some of the cheaper products. Again, this appears to be a quality product that should hold up relatively well. My issue, as with any product like this, is how long it lasts; The foam will dissipate over time. I just hope these new toppers are still available when they need to be replaced. Because if nothing changes drastically, I can easily imagine using this product again and again. again if it breaks in X years. Definitely a product I would recommend.
