Review on Keyboard + mouse set Microsoft Wireless Desktop 900 Black USB by Mateusz Banaszkiewic ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A good balance of price/quality, recommend it.

I used a set with a laptop that was used as a desktop PC, but occasionally I took it with me. As a result, one day the USB receiver buckled in the bag, after which it stopped working. I didn’t like this element from the very beginning: why make it so huge if there are very small receivers for ten years already. It is impossible to replace it. As a result, because of this little thing, I was left without a set at all. It's my own fault, but if there was a small USB receiver, this would not have happened. For me personally, this set would be almost perfect in fixing three little things: a more compact receiver, the back and forward buttons on the mouse, and a slightly softer keystroke on the keyboard.

Pros
  • Have been using this set for over a year. In general, not bad. Chose a very long time, reviewed everything. - Convenient size and arrangement of keys on the keyboard - Nice matte plastic. - There are additional keys on the keyboard. I often used multimedia control and the launch of the calculator, after switching to another keyboard, they are not enough. - Pleasant response to mouse clicks, including the wheel.
Cons
  • - Keyboard keys are pressed relatively hard. It may have gotten a little tougher over time. - Over time, the mouse began to work poorly. The position is tracked well, but the buttons are either not pressed, then a double click occurs. For a while, replacing the batteries with fully charged ones helped, but not for long. After suffering for some time, he nevertheless dismantled and cleaned it, although there was little hope. After that, everything became normal, although the inside was clean. So I did not understand the reason for the glitch. - The mouse is not designed for disassembly. A bunch of hidden screws. Usually, mice understand it once or twice, but here it was as if they hadn’t thought about it at all. And although there were no complaints about the quality of the devices themselves, there was a feeling of disposability, since the manufacturer did not think through their disassembly / repair. It is virtually impossible to disassemble a USB receiver without breaking it. - The characters on the keyboard are erased. For printing, it makes no difference to me, but the aesthetic appearance is lost. Plus, the case is noticeably "polished" over time, especially next to the space bar and the mouse buttons. But this is inherent in most of these devices. - The mouse is very simple: there is not a single additional key ("back" and "forward" even though the button to change the sensitivity of the sensor). - One of the petty, but which turned out to be fatal: a very large USB receiver.
