Review on Shure AONIC 50 Black Wireless Over-Ear Noise Cancelling Headphones by Joseph Meola

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Practical noise canceller with great sound.

Some brands are famous for certain things. In audio, Shure is known for its legendary microphones and products. As well as headphones to a lesser extent. These are the Aonic 50 headphones; These are their first on-ear Bluetooth active noise canceling headphones. The box is unique in that it's mostly round, the body is large but well built, with room for cables and DAP if you want to use the headphones with something else. than your smartphone. In terms of cables, Shure includes a good length USB-C cable, as well as an analog cable with a 2.5mm headphone jack and a 3.5mm jack on the end that plugs into your phone, laptop, etc If you want headphones without a headphone jack and want to stream through the cable, the Aonic 50 can also be used for USB-C listening. It can also be charged when used for audio over USB-C. It took 4 hours to charge the headphones, while using ANC you get 23 hours. Battery life is longer in passive mode, but volume will obviously affect how long they last before needing a charge. For Bluetooth, they support SBC, AAC, APTX, APTX-LL, APTX-HD and LDAC. APTX-LL helps reduce or eliminate audio lag when watching videos, but only on compatible devices from brands like LG, Google, and Samsung. The earbuds also have a companion app, the Shure Play app, which can be found on the Play Store and App Store. .Through the app you can adjust the levels of noise reduction and transparent hearing, for example, the ANC mode is set to maximum by default, but in the app you can change the default to a lower setting if you want. and easily switch between the 2 default options that you select and which are also saved in the headphones. With the same application you can create playlists with existing music files stored on your device or SD card, as well as use different sound presets or create your own sound. Unfortunately, Shure made the curious decision to only allow audio changes while the music was playing in the app. Some people have asked if this will change in a future update, which will come in handy if you change the sound but want to stream your music through services like Revain Music HD, Spotify, etc. Luckily the headphones sound fantastic the box. but. Objectively, these are the most neutral Bluetooth headphones I've ever heard. While I haven't listened to every pair of Bluetooth headphones, I've had or listened to many top-of-the-line headphones from Bose, Sony, Sennheiser, B&W, PSB, NAD, Beyerdynamic AudioTechnica, etc. Neutral means different things to different people. , which isn't bad, but there's a degree of balance in everyone's differing opinion from neutral about what you're hearing, and the amount of it. For example, how much bass you can hear is proportional to the mid and high frequencies. In the case of the Aonic 50, the mids are smooth but precise, sometimes that precision brings out small spikes in the upper mids and highs, but that doesn't happen often. and is an exception. More often than not, however, you get a clinical view of your music, which gives these headphones a special place in the listening experience. Sometimes I would have liked the bass drums to have a little more fullness, but they definitely don't sound good. slim. Bass is there when you need it, and you'll always hear and feel the deepest notes in an impressive way. Listening through an analog cable, even when connected to an HD pocket radio, is amazing. The noise-cancellation does a good job of blocking out faint rumble and some mid-tones, but voices do come through, but at a level that's not distracting. And with the music on, you'll find it difficult to hear much of what's going on around you. Shure also offers the ability to hear what's going on around you with something called "Ambient Mode". This setting sounds very natural in headphones, and while it can be adjusted, it's at the ideal level for my use. and turns on the headphones after holding it down for 2 seconds. By default, the Aonic 50 is in pairing mode, but if you need to connect to a second device to take advantage of Shure's multipoint connectivity, press and hold the power button for 6 seconds until you hear pairing mode. 2 quick presses of the power button gives an estimate of the battery level at high, medium and low. The next button is quieter, louder - 2 buttons above. between these two is a small but distinct multi-function button. Press and hold for 2 seconds while listening to audio or pausing music will activate Assistant. 1 Press to pause play, 2 to go to the next track, 3 to go to the previous track. For calls, press 1 to answer and end the call, press and hold for 2 seconds to reject the call. People I've spoken to have said that my voice sounds clear even when I'm doing chores or walking around. The last button is set in the middle by default, which is the passive mode. A click down activates ANC and 1 click up from the default position activates ambient mode. Shure really hit the park with these headphones. These were well-designed, comfortable, well-designed, stylish headphones that try to do everything and do it well.
