I have been sewing by hand and machine for over 40 years so I am familiar with this Sewing from needles. I needed self-threading needles, and you can't find them in fabric or craft stores, so I ordered them online. These are good needles and I like the quantity for the price but they aren't that sharp. Before using them, I have to run them through a needle sharpener, either crushed walnut shells in a small sewn pouch or loose change hanging from old-fashioned pincushions. It sharpens them to the point where they can be used without sharpening. You will need to sharpen them afterwards as they have been used for a while or after sewing stiff fabric. Not earlier than! But at least I have a solution and it wasn't a waste of money so 3 stars instead of 5 for regular needles or 1 if I couldn't fix it.
