So I walked through the Best Buy store and saw this cool toy. I took it, read the packet, put it down, continued shopping, came back, read the packet again and bought it. It has its good and bad points. Pros: cheap.; cool (small, pocket-sized); expandable (has a slot for a compact flash drive); Photos can be set to 1.3, 2 or 3.1 megapixels; can be connected via USB, plugged into a TV or if you are using a CF just pull out the chip and stick it in a CF reader. Cons: Seems cheap, all plastic; The 1t only has 16MB of internal memory so you need to use that CF card (btw the CF card REPLACES the internal memory, it doesn't complement it, so if you add a 16MB card you only have 16MB left ); no zoom (the book says about 2x digital but I can't figure out how to enable it); NO FLASH (Indoor footage and videos are grainy and reddish); Photo and video are easy to take, just open it and press one button for photo or other for video; For voice recorder you have to open it and select voice recorder from the menu (I guess they couldn't afford another button). Other: It comes with all the necessary cables, a cheap tripod, and even batteries. Files are saved in JPEG format. , avi and wav. with internal memory only, Figure 5-15 images, 2 to 4 minutes of video or 1 hour of audio. (256MB CF is about $50 now, buy one). I still think it's a great toy but next year will be better.
