I took the opportunity and bought this rear pump and installed it on a 2002 Subaru Impreza Outback Sport. The spout was on the opposite (left) side of the original rear pump, but that wasn't a problem, the water hose was long enough to reach the left side. Installation was a bit fiddly, but it worked in the end. I reused the old bushing after some cleaning. After connecting everything, I tried it, but the water didn't splash on the rear window. I knew the pump was running, I could hear it pumping. I tried it for a few minutes and then decided to fix the problem by swapping out the water hoses. I connected the rear window hose to the front pump and vice versa. I had water spatter on the front and rear windows which meant the new rear pump was fine and the rear window hose was not clogged. I reconnected the hoses in the right places and now everything works fine.
